WILDERNESS ESTATE Shiraz 2008
Australia
Admittedly, the animal theme on Aussie wines sold here in the U.S. has been way overdone, but in
a recent tasting of affordable shiraz, Wilderness Estate proved to be by far the most impressive
and noteworthy. This shiraz is a stunner, offering exuberant blackberry fruit, and a rich, mouthfilling
texture. Matured on first use Hungarian and French oak staves, the wine shows toasty vanillan
aromas which add further complexity to the bouquet. This wine is made to enjoy now or can be
stashed in the cellar for a year or two, it's great now and makes the perfect choice with hearty
barbecue fare!

REDTREE Chardonnay 2008
California
Cecchetti Wine Company was launched by wine veteran Roy Cecchetti and his wife Racheal in
2007 and they have strived to showcase the characteristics of each varietal without the hefty price
tag. This chardonnay opens up with underlying aromas of lime and kiwi with just a touch of oak. On
the palate, the wine is balanced with fresh fruit flavors of peach, pear, and apple. Since no
malolactic fermentation is used this wine rewards you with crisp tropical fruit flavors making it an
ideal companion to a variety of foods. Enjoy as an aperitif or with hazelnut crusted chicken in
prosciutto-cream sauce.

DOMAINE SKOURAS White 2008
Peloponnese, Greece
Mention Greek wine, and for most people it conjures up rather unpleasant images of the bitter, old, pungently pine-tinged wine, retsina. Like many other Eastern European countries, however, who
are seeking to compete on the world stage, Greece is enjoying a dramatic wine revolution and is
making some truly enticing (and best of all affordable) wines. This crisp dynamic white, made from
a blend of two native Greek varietals from the mountainous regions of the Peloponnese peninsula,
is a lovely, dry, white wine. Wonderfully fresh and aromatic, it offers fragrant peach blossom
aromas and crisp apple & pear flavors. It’s a heavenly match with light dishes like trout baked in
parchment with lemon & sage.

Case price $97.09 ($8.10 bottle on case buy)
REDTREE Pinot Noir 2008
California
This is another offering from Cecchetti Wine Company. This pinot is darker than most, and has
beautiful aromas of strawberry and red cherry fruit with just a subtle hint of the earthiness
associated with pinot. Ripe red cherry and strawberry fruit flavors come through along with a hint of
spice to complete the package. It has a nice finish with supple tannins. Pairs wonderfully with
flavorful meat dishes like grilled veal chops with wild mushrooms and sage.
